- 4 cups apple cider fresh
- 1 cup bourbon Woodford Reserve is great here
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 5-6 cloves whole
- 1 apple thinly slices
- ½ lemon sliced
- star anise optional
- whipped cream optional
In a large pot, combine the apple cider, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and if you're feeling adventurous, a star anise or two.
Gently warm the cider mixture over medium heat, making sure it doesn't come to a boil. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes, allowing the spices to infuse.
Reduce the heat to low and stir in the bourbon.
